Spring Cleaning

Posted on | April 5, 2009 |

kcatIt’s truly spring here in Boston now and the magnolia tree in our back garden is already flowering, brave tree that it is.  It does make us happy.  I really loved our snowy winter but I think I was the only one.  It reminded me of my snowy Canadian childhood.

I gave two of my children’s stories to my friend, Maggie Stern, who is an artist and children’s book writer.  Both were written and sent out about five or six years ago, and both rejected.  I only sent them to one place though, not enough!  Doubtless I was already onto another project at the time.  Anyway into the file cabinet they went and I forgot all about them until I stumbled on the manuscripts this week—a result of spring cleaning the file cabinet.  Maggie particularly likes one and so I’m going to send it out again.  You can see some more of my children’s illustrations here.  And you can see Maggie’s work here.  It’s a sure pick me up if you need a little positive energy!

It’s snowing here in NE Ohio, but it doesn’t stop the birds from singing. I LOVE the illustrations! Thanks for making me smile this gray, wet morning.
