My Man

Here’s another drawing for my drawing book. I love my man. I drew like this for many years when I was an illustrator. It’s pretty amazing now to think I raised my children and paid the rent doing drawings like these. I do other sorts of drawings now but when I considered what and how to draw for the opening chapter this man just showed up. It was quite amazing really. Where do things come from? But when he arrived, in a matter of an hour or so, he was so perfect and so full of evocative feeling that I kind of fell for him, to tell you the truth. Today my studio neighbor, Deb, took a look at him and I think she fell for him too. He has a certain charm, don’t you think?

We three artists at the art center met again to continue with our ’support’ group So very helpful and fun. And, because we’re three women, we feel free to talk about life with as much energy as we speak of art. Doubtless because, as women, we know, life and art are one and the same if you live right. I think we might have talked all afternoon had we not just spoken of keeping our noses on one project at a time. And so it goes. More soon.

Hi lil’guy! I remember you. You’re looking as dapper as ever and you haven’t aged at all! Sometimes when we’re older, it’s good just to sit for a while.

Well, the lil’ guy was just hatched yesterday! I think I fell into a time warp. All rather interesting.

Oh, I fell for him too. Absolutely.

Over dinner tonight I was telling Charlie about the timelessness of your images and we ended up lounging on the couch, wine glasses in hand, looking at and discussing our own Cat Bennett painting. :)

Oh, that’s so funny! I feel so very, very honored especially considering the über-fabulousness of your own paintings!:)
